Cruise Casino unsafe? JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Marine Safety Office Jacksonville is ordering the La Cruise Casino Boat to leave the port of Jacksonville and all other U.S. waterways within 72 hours.The Captain of the Port (COPT) order was issued Tuesday. La Cruise owners face penalties of $32,500 for every day they remain in port after the Friday deadline. The order was given based on the vessel's poor safety records between July 2001 and August 2004. During that period the casino boat had numerous mishaps and casualties, including failing to meet required safety standards for manning, training procedures and ignoring specific COTP orders to move their vessel during hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.
